Heart attack risk calculator

What this risk score means

  • The heart risk score calculated is based on the WHO/ISH risk scoring for 'SEAR D' countries which includes Bangladesh, Bhutan, Democratic People‚Äôs Republic of Korea, India, Maldives, Myanmar and Nepal
  • This risk score calculates the probability of having a heart attack or a stroke in the next ten years, in a group/cohort of people with same characteristic as you; therefore the result will tell you, for example, that there is a 20-30% chance of people like you getting a stroke or heart attack in next 10 years, if your risk factors do not change.
  • Its not a surity but a probability (odds) and it is meant to motivate you to better manage your lifestyle, medicine etc.Print the result and discuss with your doctor
  • You do not need to get a risk score if:

  • You already have been told you have heart disease and are under treatment
  • You have uncontrolled high BP
  • Long standing diabetes with compications of diabetic retinopathy or diabetics kidney disease
  • Chronic Kidney Disease
  • In all these conditions, your heart risk level is quite high and you need to monitor your risk factors closely and manage them aggressively under medical guidance
